Roomba does most of its tasks independently. Based on the model you own, it can charge itself, and even clean itself on its own. And, the iRobot app is your control panel to see if everything’s running perfectly. The app is your go-to when looking to add a new robot to the home network. The steps are easy-to-follow and can help you get done with the setup procedure in no time. However, if you have tried to add the new Roomba but it does not work, there are some troubleshooting steps you can always follow.
Resolving Issues With The iRobot App
Issues with the iRobot app may be the biggest roadblock in the way of ensuring complete connectivity. Here are some easy tips you can follow to correct them:
Check The Internet Connectivity
If the iRobot Home app server goes offline, you will face issues with adding a new Roomba. Ensure that the wifi connectivity at your home is seamless and you are able to access the internet on other devices. You can try restarting your wifi router to see if that fixes issues with the internet connectivity. Also, ensure that the smartphone or tablet with iRobot App is connected to the same wifi network as your Roomba robot. Once checked, try adding the robot to the account and see if its works.
Force Stop The App
- Open the device settings and head to the Apps section.
- This will give you a list of the installed apps. Now select the iRobot app from the list.
- Once the app page loads, scroll down to the bottom and tap the Force Stop button.
- After a few seconds, try reloading the app by tapping on the Start button.
- You can now try adding Roomba to the iRobot app again.
Reinstall The App
You can also try reinstalling the iRobot app on your smartphone. Simply, uninstall the app and then head to the Google Play Store or App Store to re-download the app. Tap on the install button and proceed with adding the robot to Roomba’s account.
Reset Roomba
You can reset your Roomba device if you have tried to add the new Roomba but it does not work. To reset the same, you can press and hold the button(s) on the top till you hear/see a response(sound/light). Once you have that, allow some time for the robot to restart and you can proceed with the sync process again.
How To Add Roomba and Make It Work?
Once you have reinstalled the iRobot Home app on your smartphone/tablet, you can proceed with the easy steps:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone. Also, enable the location access so the app can detect it during setup.
- Launch the iRobot Home app and tap on the Menu button from the top left.
- Tap on Add your Product option. Select the model of your robot.
- You will now be presented with the correct steps to add and configure your Roomba robot.
